Oikocredit and NGOs Continue NCP-Mediated Dialogue
21/06 On 18-19 June 2024, representatives of social impact investor Oikocredit held a dialogue session with three non-governmental organisations (NGOs) – Cambodian League for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights (LICADHO), Equitable Cambodia and FIAN Germany.
This was the second session following a submission by the three NGOs to the Dutch OECD National Contact Point (NCP) for Responsible Business Conduct concerning alleged non-compliance with the OECD Guidelines related to Oikocredit's financing of microfinance organisations in Cambodia in December 2022.
This dialogue focused on challenges in the microfinance sector and the need to address them to improve the living conditions of people in Cambodia.
The dialogue will continue with the next session to be scheduled later this year.
Oikocredit extends its appreciation to the NCP and the mediation team for their efforts and professionalism throughout this process.
