Digamber Capfin Ltd (DCL) was founded in 1995 and is licensed as a non-banking finance company microfinance institution (NBFC-MFI). DCL is the first licensed such institution in the state of Rajasthan, one of the most underdeveloped states in India, where illiteracy is rife, child marriage is common and the status of women is low.
In 2009, the company launched its first microfinance operations. DCL is primarily engaged in providing microfinance loans, based on the Joint Liability Group (JLG) model, to low-income women in six different states. Most clients are based in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
